Delete your account
You can delete your account and the data attached to it at any time. There are two ways to do it, and you do not need to be signed in to ask us.
In the app — takes a few seconds
Open the app, go to Settings, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account. You will be asked to confirm twice. The deletion happens immediately; there is nothing else to wait for.
By request — if you cannot open the app
Email us from the address on your account and say you want it deleted. We reply to confirm, and complete the deletion within 30 days of verifying that the account is yours — usually the same week.
What gets deleted
Everything tied to you: your profile and every field in it, your photos and videos, the messages you sent in both group and match chats, your likes and votes, your group membership, your read receipts and notification token, and your login itself. None of it can be restored afterwards. The only copy left is inside our daily database backups, which are kept for 7 days and then deleted; if we ever had to restore one, we would delete your account again.
What happens to your group
If other people are still in it, the group carries on and the longest-standing remaining member becomes its leader. If you were the last one in it, the group closes and its matches are told the conversation has ended. Your friends keep their own accounts either way.
The two things we keep
Feedback you sent us stays for 2 years, with your name and email address stripped out of it, because it is about the app rather than about you. Safety reports also stay: a report exists to protect the person who filed it and everyone after them, and deleting an account cannot be a way to erase one. A year after a report is closed, its written details and any quoted message are erased.
